Depeche Mode does an amazing cover of U2’s “So Cruel”. You can listen to it in the Youtube link below:

Its their contribution to the forthcoming “AHK-Toong BAY-Bi Covered” CD, joining other bands in paying tribute to the 1991 U2 album “Achtung Baby”. The compilation CD, celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Achtung Baby”, will come with the December 2011 issue of Q Magazine (#305). The magazine with the free CD will be in shops from October 26th.

Susan Boyle Covers Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy The Silence”

Susan Boyle has decided to cover Depeche Mode’s classic “Enjoy The Silence” which will feature in her forthcoming third album “Someone to Watch Over Me” (out November 1st 2011). “The melody of the song is just beautiful,” Boyle tells Rolling Stone, “but really that lyric sounds like it will touch so many people in the way it touched me.” Boyle’s version sounds like it has been slowed down with the gender changed (“my little boy”) 🙂

Depeche Mode Covers U2

Depeche Mode will contribute a cover of U2’s “So Cruel” to an upcoming Achtung Baby tribute album in connection with the 20th anniversary reissue of Achtung Baby (the album turns 20 in November 2011). This was confirmed by the U2’s frontman, Bono, himself during a press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival. The cover was recorded in Santa Barbara and New York.
